Vaccine Debate
I had the occasion to watch PBS’s Frontline report last night on the so-called vaccine debate and I’m prompted to write about it here.
It might be hard to believe or to understand, but there is growing resistance by some parents of school-aged and younger children to decline vaccinating their kids. Their rationale is that there is overwhelming evidence of vaccine-induced effects, especially Autism.
The facts are very different from the pseudoscience of the groups that support those contentions. Independent, repeatable results from myriad scientific studies from the CDC, cite universitys, shows that there is no difference in the rate of autism in children that have been vaccinated versus those who have. None. The response of the anti-vaccination groups is that science should prove why their children are autistic, otherwise, absent other satisfactory proof, vaccines are the reason.
What?
Fallacious arguments aside
